Madness

Madness - The most successful of all the Ska revival bands and still going strong with the original line up. Their 'nutty' sound has earned them a the lofty position of 42nd out of the top 500 bands of all time, based on single sales. As at 1st January 2003, they have had 32 single releases! Few of their singles were cover versions.

	The Prince - Madness Their first single and their only one to appear on the legendary 2 Tone label. It peaked at 16 in the charts and stayed in the charts for 11 weeks. Catalogue Number CHS TT3. Released 01/09/79. The song is about Ska legend Prince Buster. The lyrics to The Prince include several of Prince Buster's song titles.

	One Step Beyond - Madness Reached number 7 in the charts and stayed in the charts for 14 weeks. Released 10/11/79. Catalogue Number BUY56.
	My Girl - Madness Reached number 3 in the UK charts and stayed in the charts the first time round for 10 weeks. This was the single that was released 05/01/80. The single was re-released on 08/08/92 and reached 27 in the charts staying in the charts for 4 weeks. Catalogue Numbers BUY62 and VS1425 respectively.
	It Must Be Love - Madness Reached Number 4 in the UK charts and stayed in the charts for 12 weeks. Catalogue Number BUY134. Released 05/12/81. Originally released in 1971 by Labi Siffre. It originally made number 14 back in 1971.
	Night Boat to Cairo - Madness Reached Number 6 in the UK chart as past of the 'Work Rest and Play EP'. Stayed in the charts for 8 weeks. Catalogue Number BUY71. The single was re-released on its own on 27/02/93 and reached number 56 in the charts staying on the chart for 2 weeks. Catalogue Number VSCDT 1447.
